What Is A Regional Burn?

There has been considerable and lengthy discussion on this topic, with a wide array of opinions, but the general consensus is:

Regional Burn [ree'-juh-nl bern] n. - An outdoor, camping-oriented event that upholds the 10 Principles of the Burning Man Festival. An effigy or construction of some sort is usually burned at the height of the event, and the event must in some way involve the area's Burning Man Regional Contact - hence the "Regional" part of the term. The event must also meet other criteria (like the use of insurance) set by the Burning Man organization in order to be considered an official Regional Burn.

If the same event were held without the involvement of a Burning Man Regional Contact, it would simply be called a "Burn" or a "Burner event" (and not listed here).
